Tenaya and I have been at my parent's home in Livermore for the past week and a half. It has been a busy and exciting time. However, along with excitement comes some nervousness. There are lots of things you need to take into account when moving to a new country. There are questions like what are you doing there in the first place? Where are you going to live? Where are you going to buy groceries? What are you going to do for fun? You also need to consider what you can't live without and what you can leave behind. For example, you obvioulsy need clothing - unless you're going to a nudest colony - but you may not need your rollerblades - which I wish I could bring but they're too big and heavy.
As we are packing and weighing our bags we are feeling some last minute jitters of excitment and trepedation. We are about to move to another country! A place where we have no friends or connections and must forge new ones. This brings to both of us a sense of joy and endless adventure but also we feel a bit dwarfed by the magnitude of this feat. We have the great oppourunity to see where the world will take us. To quote one of my favorite movies Chocolat, "the clever north wind was not satisfied. It spoke to Vianne {Tenaya} of towns yet to be visited, friends in need yet to be discovered, battles yet to be fought..." So we go into this new adventure full of expectant joy.
One major event that took place about two weeks ago was our 1 year anniversary! :) We spent 5 days overall on an amazing trip together. We went to Shaver Lake for three days and we backpacked in the Dinkey Lakes Wilderness area for two days. It was a very relaxing time. And we went to some very beautiful places (picture clear high alpine lakes and majestic views of the Sierra Nevada mountains). I'm full of remorse to inform you that because of some complications with Costco's now non-existant printing shop and the fact that I deleted the photos from my camera, we only have three pictures from this anniversary :( I'm extremely sad about this. We also lost some great family photos :( I am already braining storming ways to make up for this blunder.
For our next update we will be in Mexico!

This is one of the three pictures we got from our one year anniversary. She has some food on her face, and isn't she lovely?!

This is our storage unit in southern California. We estimate that 90% of our belongings are in there.

We sure are going to miss family. This is a great picture of Mama Lee, Terah, and Naya.

We are also going to miss hikes with friends! Those are strawberries on Strawberry Peak in the San Gabriel Mountains. We are looking forward to finding some great hiking places near Guadalajara. We can never replace our friends however; they will be missed!

On a beautiful bike ride I did yesterday I captured this picture of Livermore far below. We do not know exactly where home will be when we return, but this is the place we will be staying at for awhile when that time comes.
